The Secure Deployment Challenge
Securely deploying modern enterprise applications often involves a complex set of application-specific lockdown settings along with an appropriate set of network or environmental security controls. Maintaining that secure state then depends on timely updates to the product and its environment in response to evolving threats and newly discovered vulnerabilities.
An inadvertent change to a product’s environment or a single missed security update can easily leave a product deployment in a vulnerable state. If this vulnerable state is observable by an Internet based attacker then it is simply a matter of time before an exploit is attempted.
Our secure deployment assessments are designed to provide a detailed external security perspective on a specific Internet-facing product or service. By focusing on the externally visible aspects of a product we can provide a real-world attacker’s view of the product.
Our assessments use current and historic Internet scan data from our automation platform along with vendor security guidance, current threat intelligence and known product vulnerabilities to provide a holistic external perspective on the observable security state of a deployment.
